Basic Incident Command (1 day)

Discover the ins and outs of Incident Command.

The majority of emergency response agencies in Canada and the United States operate under an Incident Command system. As a result, many organizations have adopted this system for managing a hands-on emergency situation. Participants in this one-day training workshop will be introduced to the concepts and terminology of Incident Command. Furthermore, they will learn to work within an Incident Command structure by acting out the various roles of Incident Command during an exercise.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will have the necessary training to work within an Incident Command structure and even assume the role of Incident Commander should an emergency incident arise at their organization.

ERMC will also deliver this training at your site. When delivered on-site the training is based on the Emergency Response Plan of the client.

Managing Emergency Operations (1 day)

Join ERMC's Managing Emergency Operations training and learn how to manage an emergency before it manages you.

This one-day workshop will present participants with the basic concepts of how an emergency response organization is structured, mobilized and operated. As well, the workshop explores the critical issue of effectively managing the flow of communications.

A Command Post Drill also is conducted to expose participants to what it is like to be in an Emergency Operations Centre during an incident.

When you have completed this course you will feel confident in your ability to perform management level responsibilities as an active member of the Emergency Operations Centre.

Course loading is limited to one person for each EOC position as identified in the organizations Emergency Response Plan.
